Random thoughts

I had a wonderful post drafted last night, and my laptop suddenly turned itself off before I could save it.  I'll try to recreate it today. It would have been "God Thoughts -- Part III."

Meantime, I'm test-driving a PT Cruiser tomorrow. IT's the right color, and has the features/options I want. The Credit Union has already pre-approved my loan, so now it all hinges on how the test drive feels, and what they'll give me for my trade-in.

It's possible that I could be in a new car by Valentines' Day.

God thoughts - Part II

From an email to a friend tonight... she's supporting me in prayer while I wrestle with these thoughts.  I"ve made some minor edits on re-reading it, to clarify my thoughts.

 

God thoughts - Part I

It seems like it's been a long time since I was confident of my salvation.  A long time since I would freely say I was a "committed" Christian.  My honest assessment of myself is that I'm a "lackadaisical" Christian.  Not even a Christmas/Easter Christian any more, since I didn't even attend church on those 2 major holidays.

usually I can convince myself that I'm still an ok christian... tonight I'm feeling a gaping hole in my heart.

R.I.P., Columbia

It was two years ago today.  I was watching CNN or something, and suddenly they were showing this vast expanse of clear blue sky, and then there was nothing, when there was supposed to be a space shuttle.

Rest in peace, heroes of our stars.

Dear Mom....

I found myself reaching for my cell phone today, to call you.  Partly it was to entertain you with the challenges I've faced this weekend, trying to leave town in the middle of "The Great SouthEastern Ice Storm of 2005," but mostly because I had a new experience today, and it was one  you would have enjoyed.
